A lot has happened with Vanya the past month. His teeth came in (two, so far), he crawls, and he babbles. He can sit without support, and can pull himself up to a kneeling position. He even kisses people sometimes by planting his open mouth on your check. And last night, he fell off the bed. Cried a long time, of course, but he seemed fine.
Didn't do the "What's currently on my..." list this month, so here are the list of books I have on reserve at the library: A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, The elements of cooking: an approach to style by Michael Ruhlman (inspired by Strunk and White), The Tenth Muse: My Life in Food by Judith Jones (editor for Julia Child and other famous cooks; she also discovered Anne Frank), A Class Apart: prodigies, pressure and passion inside one of America's best high schools (that would be my own) by Alec Klein, and The little engine that could storybook treasury by Watty Piper (for Nikita)
I'm still reading The Science of Parenting and am halfway done with The Blue Flower.
Super sleepy this morning because I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep. I made a shoofly pie for class this morning; maybe the coffee in it will wake me up.
