Nightstand to read: Run by Ann Patchett; David Copperfield by Charles Dickens
Knitting needles: Teddy bear in Lion brand Wool-ease (cranberry)
CD player: Nothing, but next to it are two CD's: "333 Best Children's Songs" (Russian) and "Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends: Thomas' Songs and Roundhouse Rhythms"
DVD player: "Yeralash", a Russian children's DVD - part of Nikita's latest bedtime routine (accompanied with yogurt)
Freezer, ready to bake: A new (half) batch of World Peace cookies. This new batch is much better, possibly because of the light brown sugar, possibly because I didn't overwork the dough.
Dining room table: a watermelon, nearly half gone within an hour of its arrival from the store. I am not contributing to the melon's demise - just another sign that I lack Ukrainian blood.
