Books and fat

Bookfinder.com and I have always been good friends, and yet again, it has not failed me in finding fantastic prices on the following books:
  • The Everything Book by Denise Fleming
  • A Child's Book of Art by Lucy Micklethwait
  • Lion Storyteller Bedtime Book by Bob Harman
  • How to Cook without a Book by Pam Anderson
The first two are for Ivan, the third (sight unseen - a rarity) for Nikita, the last for me (or my family, who are going to eat from it). I've bought more books than I've been reading them. But that's because school is finally underway: papers to grade, papers to read for my own research project.

This morning, I caught up with a mom of a girl about Ivan's age. She's given me such useful information about nourishing babies. And even though I hadn't seen her in months, she told me something new: butter fat with vitamin K for preventing teeth crowding. Ivan's teeth are well-spaced (possibly of the cod liver oil I was feeding him), but Nikita's teeth are already crowded. I was all set to stash away money for braces, but now, I'm going to buy good butter fat, cod liver oil that doesn't taste fishy, and coconut oil. Also gotta start feeding the family liver once a week. And while I'm at it, I should start subscribing to the Weston A Price newsletter!
