God Bless You, Dr. Kevorkian

Kurt Vonnegut's book is the perfect antidote to Mukherjee's tome on cancer: it is short (72 pages!) and funny throughout. The book is a collection of "interviews" of dead people (mostly famous), made possible by near-death experiences that were supervised by Jack Kevorkian. The interviews are breezy and all of them could be read in one sitting. I suspect there are some deeper truths, but I don't have the patience to look for them after The Emperor of All Maladies. Thankfully, Vonnegut's book is short enough that I can search for his insights later.
