Recipes from The Help

The recent release of the "The Help" reminded me of how much I wanted to make the desserts from the book. Thankfully, the search engine was more productive now than when I finished the book a year and a half ago:
  • Minnie's Caramel Cake. Kathryn Stockett gives a slightly different version of the icing here, so I'd love to track down the actual issue of The Memphis Cookbook.
  • Minnie's Chocolate Pie
Until I make these myself, you can salivate over the lovely photos of both recipes here. The blogger, however, slightly changed the caramel cake by adding pecans and provided an optional cream cheese frosting.
