What I've done in the past 24 hours

• Worked all day yesterday on a "a concise discussion of...recent scientific developments [I] found particularly exciting" for a job at Nature
• Ate big bowl of soup with soba noodles for lunch, with fellow VT workers
• Received email from Cell, who rejected my application
• Received email from MIT, requesting letters of recommendation; immediately emailed authors for letters
• Fed, bathed, put Nikita to sleep
• Stayed up until 12.30 am to finish off Nature writing assignment (application was due 30 June - took advantage of time difference!)
• Woke up at 5.30 am, and made salmon with mushrooms & spinach for dinner
• Drove in listening to Bridget Jones's Diary on tape; much funnier than News from Lake Wobegon (Garrison Keillor sounds morose!). Audiobooks could save me a speeding ticket because they keep me from looking at the speedometer.

Very tired.
