Confessions of a Knitting Heretic

This book by Annie Modesitt as some interesting tips (like knitting in the tail for the second stitch when picking up new yarn) and projects (the Afterthought heel & toe sock - those parts are done later and possibly in a contrasting color so they are easy to replace). But Annie Modesitt's writing style is less witty (perhaps less biting?) and more New Age-y than my faves Maggie Righetti and Mary Thomas (or even Elizabeth Zimmerman). I'm glad I took it out of the library, but I'm not going to buy a copy for myself.
