Out of all the songs on the practice CD for Gospel Night, this doo-wop song by Daryl Coley was my least favorite piece. But somehow Charles Floyd transformed it into an amazing experience that I got on tape. He was so caught up in the song, and we were stunned that we had to keep singing - but eventually we also got wrapped up in the line "Work it out". I hope to be better prepared on Sunday because as Charles says, "The train is leaving the station"!
Life is tough right now: I have problems balancing my parents' desire to see Nikita with Igor's and my need for rest; Igor is upset that my rehearsals this week prevent me from helping him take care of Nikita at night (and the only time I see Nikita is when I come home early to feed him dinner - not the best time to bond with my son!); and I STILL don't have an exit plan from J&B. Plus I figured out that one of the chapters I'm working on barely talks about one of the topics in its title!
The only highlight of my life is Gospel Night. I don't think I'm particularly religious - spiritual, maybe, but not religious. But I love the feeling of getting "caught up in the praise" of a higher spiritual being - whatever you might call Him/Her - and forgetting about my worries. Because they will be worked out.
