The last week of May marked a number of developments for Ivan:
- first toothbrush
- desire to go downstairs forward. For a whole week, Ivan refused to go downstairs backward. It was either forward, or being held.
- tugging on my shirt to nurse (yes, I'm still nursing)
- talking on phone. I recorded some of his "messages", which mostly consists of yelling "da" and random gibberish.
- new ways to express his dislike. He spits.
- waving "Bye-bye" with an outstretched hand instead of making the sign for "mula"
- drinking from a real (not sippy) cup with conviction
Nikita also had a number of accomplishments. He can pedal a bike (one less item on my To Do list), and has become obsessed with coloring things in. He also started sitting on the toilet for #2, but with the diaper. One step at a time...
Last Saturday, Nikita had his first art lesson. The goal was to focus on details, and the teacher chose a tree. He hasn't completed his homework, which is to draw a big tree with five branches. He draws trees with three branches, but not five. The teacher thinks he might be a bit too young since he's not fond of following the requests of other people. Imagine that.
